How can we help with your audit?
Somebody has asked for an audit
A lender, buyer, funder or board, or a statute that applies to you. Send us the request and we confirm the report.
We are not sure which report we need
Audit, review, compilation or agreed-upon procedures.
Audits, reviews and compilationsWe need to get our records ready
Bookkeeping and cleanup before fieldwork, where independence rules allow.
BookkeepingWhere does your audit requirement come from?
Whoever asked for the statements sets the level. Find your situation, then send us the document.
Our lender or bonding company asked
Your financing agreement or bonding line names the report, the framework and the deadline. Send us the clause before you commission the work.
We are selling, raising money or bringing in a partner
A buyer, an investor or a shareholder agreement can each require audited statements, and a due diligence review is a different engagement again.
A funder or grantmaker asked
A grantmaker sets its own reporting conditions in the agreement. Federal and state awards can add compliance reports alongside the financial statements. Send us the agreement and we read its audit clause.
A Washington statute requires it
Condominium associations owe an annual CPA audit, and so do homeowners associations with $50,000 or more in annual assessments (RCW 64.34.372, RCW 64.38.045). Owners can waive the audit in some associations by a vote taken each year. A registered charity averaging more than $3,000,000 in gross revenue over three years needs an independent audit of the prior year (RCW 19.09.541). Tell us about your community and we confirm which statute applies.
Our bylaws or declaration require it
Your governing documents can require more than the state does, so read them before you book anything.
It is our first audit, or we are changing auditors
Opening balances, prior-year records and predecessor information all affect the timetable. Start the conversation early.
For the difference between an audit, a review and a compilation, see our audits, reviews and compilations page.
